One thing my dog, Bachaesh, loves is getting mail. When we get packages delivered to the door his tail begins to wag, and he is filled with joy and excitement. That’s why I love subscription boxes for pets…and because it means I don’t have to go on a hunt at the pet store to find him some tasty, healthy snacks.
We recently came across a new subscription box for dogs called Pupjoy. Based in the USA, Pupjoy provides tailored subscription boxes for dogs based on a variety of criteria.
Prices range from $23 to $44 USD, and Pupjoy ships around the globe. They offer free shipping within the USA and only charge $5 to ship to Canada. The best part: your box leaves their facility within 48 hours of ordering which means you get it fast!
Pupjoy was kind enough to send us one of their Organic boxes to review. We received our box in a matter of days- which I think is the fastest we’ve ever received a subscription box. I really appreciated that Pupjoy sent a tracking code when we registered for our box. Like my dog, I love getting mail and so I like being able to check for status updates on my shipments.
The first item we received in the box was a piece of naturally shed antler by Billy Wolf.
These antlers are great toys for any dog that loves to chew because they’re incredibly long lasting, odorless, and provide teeth cleaning benefits. You can feel good knowing that no animals were harmed in the harvesting of these antlers as they were naturally shed, and found in the wild. Size small (pictured) retails for $16.
As a puppy Bachaesh would spend hours gnawing away at the antlers we’d give him. It kept him occupied and kept our possessions safe from a curious puppy. I know this antler from Billy Wolf will keep him busy for a long time!
Next, we received USDA Organic Cheese Pizza treats by Be Pawsitive, which retail for $12.95.
Bachaesh’s favourite treat by far is cheese, so needless to say, these tasty cheese pizza biscuits were a huge hit in our house.
Made with organic ingredients like flax seed, basil, dried tomato and cheddar, these biscuits are full of pizza pizzazz!
They’re also wheat, corn and soy free- perfect if your dog has a food allergy.
Be Pawsitive also helps give back to shelter pets.
Nobody likes a smelly dog. Ewegurt’s Lemongrass shampoo bar is a fabulous way to keep your furbaby smelling fresh. (It smells soooo good!)
This shampoo bar uses ingredients like sheep’s milk yogurt, coconut oil and essential oils to cleanse your pet’s fur while leaving skin moisturized- no conditioner required.
At $6 a bar, this natural shampoo bar is incredibly affordable. It’s also available in peppermint and lavender.
Bachaesh can sometimes be a picky eater, especially when it comes to dry biscuits. He usually prefers moist, meaty treats. So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he really enjoys these gourmet organic dog biscuits from Bo’s Bones.
These cute “Lovin’ Heart” treats have a super short ingredient list- which I love because everything is a familiar ingredient. No fillers or preservatives, and yet they have a year-long shelf life.
They’re made with certified organic whole wheat bread flour, certified organic rolled oats, honey, spring water and free-range chicken eggs.
Simple and delicious. Dog treats shouldn’t be complicated.
Lastly, Pupjoy sent us this adorable Penguin squeak toy from Fou Fou Dog which retails for $10 USD. It’s such a cute toy for the winter season, and appears to be fairly durable.
What I Love
I am very impressed with our Pupjoy box. Despite being shipped from the USA to Canada, our box reached us in record time!
The products in the box were very clearly well thought out and curated, and exceeded my expectations. I love that I can trust Pupjoy’s judgement on what products are healthy and suitable for my dog’s needs- saving me time and money at the pet store where I’d otherwise be reading the ingredient panel of every treat bag on the shelf.
Pupjoy isn’t just a subscription box business. They are committed to bettering the lives of animals in need. They donate 10% of your purchase price directly to your selected animal shelter, or to Animal League-the world’s largest no-kill rescue.
Additionally, Pupjoy donates $2 to fund Care Pack boxes. These are delivered free of charge to recipients undergoing breast cancer treatment, who as a result are severely limited in their means to care for the nurturing dogs by their side. They allow you to designate a recipient with your order.
We LOVE it! I think this may be the best subscription box we’ve come across so far in terms of quality, value, and shipping speed.
Whether your dog has a food senstivity (wheat/protein/corn/soy) or you’re just looking for healthier treat options (natural/ certified organic) Pupjoy has a curated box just for you!
I highly recommend trying Pupjoy as your next subscription box purchase!
