Earthbath: Shampoo for the Planet

Looking for an all natural pet shampoo that does more than just clean? Earthbath has a whole line of products that focus on getting your pup squeaky clean, helping to save the planet and contributing to communities around the world.

Earthbath products originate from California and are all USA made. Not only are they natural, but also non toxic, paraben and sulfate free, phthalate free, and phosphate free. What does that leave? A whole list of natural ingredients aimed at making your furry friend look and smell their best!

We recently tested out the new Earthbath Shed Control Shampoo and Conditioner.

As the owner of a long-haired pup, we know that when our dog sheds it doesn’t just affect the number of times we have to vacuum, but also means that we need to have a lint roller with us literally everywhere we go.

Earthbath’s new shampoo and conditioner aim to tackle this problem head-on by combining  natural moisturizing ingredients  to alleviate the dry, flaky skin that can contribute to shedding. Shed Control Shampoo and Conditioner detangles, relieves shedding and revitalizes pet fur with omega-6 rich ingredients.

Earth bath Ingredients

Earthbath’s shampoos  are awesome because they are made with human-grade ingredients and pure essential oils. They do not have any artificial colours or fragrances, nor do they contain soaps that can irritate or dry out your pet’s skin. This particular line is safe for use on both cats and dogs, and is made with Green Tea, Awapuhi (also known as shampoo ginger), and fair trade, organic Shea Butter. It is 100% biodegradable AND animal cruelty free!

Is there anything this shampoo can’t do?!

The shampoo and conditioner were very simple to use because they had an easy-squirt nozzle. This pop-up nozzle allowed me to easily control where I was putting the shampoo and conditioner on my dog’s coat while holding the bottle with one hand. Its focused design also kept the lid from getting messy and covered by dripping shampoo–’cause nobody wants to do more cleaning than necessary!

I’m also so happy that Earthbath shampoos come in a bottle that actually fits in my hand. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve dropped an entire bottle of dog shampoo in the tub, mid-wash, because it’s too big, heavy and slippery.

After our dog, Bachaesh, went for a roll in the mud at the dog park, we found that Earthbath works well for deep cleaning. Because this shampoo is all natural, the sudsy runoff is completely safe to plants and animals- a great option for outdoor bathtime!

Earthbath’s scent is one of the longest lasting I’ve come across–probably due to their use of essential oils. I personally found the Green Tea & Awapuhi scent a little on the strong side in its pure form. The bottle says you can dilute the product 10 parts water to 1 part shampoo/conditioner if desired. Scent preferences are very personal, so I encourage you to explore what works for you.

We stopped by our local Global Pet Foods shop the other day to sniff out the entire line of Earthbath shampoo (and boy, are there a lot of options!). If Green Tea just isn’t your thing, there are lots of other scents for you that tackle a multitude of issues. Their puppy shampoo smells like tasty cherry gum!

We’re very impressed with all of the boxes that Earthbath products check off. Not only is this a great shampoo for your pet, but the company is very environmentally and animal welfare conscious– and that’s worth two paws up!

A 16 oz bottle retails for $15.99 and is available in most pet stores and online.
