Looking to try something new for your pooch? The next time it’s a bazillion degrees outside, try these Peanut Butter Pup-sicles!
With only two ingredients, this recipe is easy, affordable and fool proof, I promise!
What you’ll need:
– Some sugar-free, salt free peanut butter (You can buy it from the grocery store OR you can buy Dogsbutter from pet stores such as Petsmart)
– About one cup of plain, greek yogurt
I used an IKEA ice cube tray in a cute little heart shape, but you could use any ice cube tray (Similar to these). The smaller the shape, the better. That way these pup-sicles are bite size and are less messy.
Scoop the peanut butter into a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for a few seconds until slightly runny. Carefully spoon a little peanut butter into the bottom of each heart. (I learned from experience that less is more! Though Bachaesh loves peanut butter, he prefers to lick these rather than bite them, allowing the peanut butter to get all over the floor. So… less peanut butter, more yogurt!)
Spoon the yogurt on top of the peanut butter and level out the tops. Pop in the freezer for an hour or two. VOILA!
This is a nice treat for your pooch on a hot day, and can be followed by some regular ice cubes to keep them hydrated!
